EL VENCEDOR (1) was a beaten favourite in the G1 Zabeel Classic in an oddly run race. He is at his best when allowed to stride to the front, and if he can find that spot from the pole position, then he will take all sorts of beating in this. JAARFFI (2) has been racing consistently without winning, and was a game runner-up in the G1 Zabeel Classic here just over 5 weeks ago. She has won her only start over this trip and should go close to winning again. FROSTFAIR (8) ended up getting too far back early on here last week, and with a more positive ride, she can find a spot closer to the pace this time. Apprentice

A new jockey who has not ridden a certain number of winners in a specified time period.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
