Verdict

TOWERING VISION (1) had trialled up well enough prior to finishing fifth fresh up here just over 3 weeks ago when needing the run. He will be better for that hit-out, and if 7 ½f is not already too short for him, then he will be hard to beat. FAULTLESS (2) found the 6f a bit too sharp for him when finishing fourth in a 5-horse field at Whanganui last week. The quick backup won't bother him, and the extra 1 ½f is a far more suitable trip for him. Stick with him on an each-way basis. HAPPY YOUMZAIN (3) fought on gamely to finish third at Tauranga 2 weeks ago, and his effort for fourth here 3 starts back was very good. He just needs the right run to be winning this. TO THE MAX (5) followed up a fast finishing fourth on debut with a tidy win at Arawa Park nearly a fortnight ago. He is on target for some richer races and can take the next step here. LOS SANTOS (8) was narrowly beaten here in his penultimate start, and then was only bloused out late at Te Aroha last start. Go again.
