TOWERING FORTUNE (7) produced a good performance last time out when he led from a similar draw to this and fought on as runner-up at Newcastle, beaten 2.3 metres. Both career wins have come at the mile and he he should be peaking third-up. Has the ability to take care of this field. A SPECIAL OCCASION (9) didn't have the best of luck in a Victoria Derby heat last start at Melton. Form prior to that had been good, scoring fresh at Ballarat then placing at Geelong. The driver has some work to do from this wide starting position but this is a nice drop in grade so he could prove tough to beat with even luck. HUNTER STRIDE (4) has placed in all three starts this time in. Good effort last time out when he finished second at this circuit and distance and he draws lower. Chance to break through. FORGIVE AND FORGET (2) will be rock-hard fit after four runs back from a spell, the latest effort a fourth here last week. Draws for a good showing.
