JOCK'S WAY (1) improved effort 2nd-up last start when charged home from the tail of the field for a close 3rd at Wingatui over 6f. Extra trip looks ideal now. ENSIGN JACK (3) led and was swamped late over this trip in May. Worked to get the front then had no peace and condition gave out when fresh at Gore last week. Fitter now. MAKARORA (7) was fresh since May when got well back and struggled on the heavy Wingatui track earlier this month. Has since won a jumpout and can improve here. AURICULA (9) is a northern import who was beaten a head by MAKARORA in a 5f jumpout on October 12. Keep safe in her debut here. JOT DOWN (6) had support but was checked to the rear and couldn't get into the race on the heavy track at Gore last week. Lone placing came of soft.
