NEXT STOP JUPITER (2) has the sharpest recent profile, winning a BM55 at Rockhampton by a head after being beaten only a neck there the start prior. She has missed the quinella just once in eight starts, handles soft ground and reunites with a rider who has an excellent record on her, so the six-day back-up is the only real reservation. FABULEAN (1) is the obvious danger after winning a BM65 at Townsville and she brings proven 6 ½f and this-track form, though the top weight keeps the contest honest. MISSILE BABY (5) has been close up in two Open runs this campaign, including a solid fourth at Rockhampton at big odds, and looks a genuine place hope with weight relief. SNAPPEN (6) earned his place in the discussion with a Cloncurry Mdn win, but this is his first run around 6 ½f and his turf record remains the query.
