Verdict

JUST CRUISIN' (1) brings outstanding Stakes form without a weight penalty. Won't know himself in a CL4 and will use an inside barrier to advantage. Keeps Jett Stanley and he should be winning. NAVARRE RIVER (3) deserved his CL2 win at Hobart over this journey and then raced favourite again and came hard beaten a half-length this track/trip/grade. He can form the quinella. SISTER ROYAL (4) resumes following a switch to the Gandy stable and brings a string of wins. Won a recent Hobart trial and 4x winning rider Byrne Burke stays aboard. Draws the rail and no surprise if she's presented forward this time around. FIORENTE DE LEGEND (2) won at Hobart deservedly, and then was plainer there stepping up to a mile. Comes back 1f and she'll be around the mark.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Exacta

A bet selecting the first and second horses in a race in the correct order. An exacta box refers to paying a little more to ensure they can finish in either order.
