FINAL VOYAGE (5) sat just off the pace and scored here at her penultimate start, and then tried to make all the running from a wide draw at Warwick last start before being collared late to finish second by a neck. She has a superior gate this time, and back to the level she won at, she can take this out. DOITLIKEMAXWELL (4) has not won for some time, but ended his last season in good form. He has had a couple of tune-up trials, and should be running in strongly in this. Each way. CHANGE THE DEEL (1) is usually doing his best work late in his races, and if they overdo it front here, he can slice through late to have the last say. CALVARY (7) was beaten but not disgraced in a harder field last start, and map to receive an economical run early on in this from a good gate. Include him in all top 4 combos. STARWARD (3) will be on a 5-day backup after finishing a game third at Gatton over 5 ½f. He will need some luck from a tricky gate, but has placed twice here, so stick with him.

Maiden Race

A race exclusively for horses who have not previously won.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.
