PRESTIGE FANTASTIC (1) comes up from Victoria and is now in the Tony Ball yard. Has genuine claims despite a plain Echuca run, with his Kyneton fifth giving him a better platform than the last-start margin suggests after he was held up passing the 1 ½f. He is rated strongly at 6 ¼f and strikes a maiden where that should carry weight. TORPEDO TUBE (11) brings the most recent placing of the main hopes, having been second to Rubinsky at Port Macquarie two starts ago before a fair seventh at Scone. He has the right profile to rebound if he can sharpen late. TAVERNA (10) has been well beaten at her past two, but barrier 1, a previous placing at this track and solid recent-form ratings keep her in the winning mix. IN AND AWAY (5) resumes off a Grafton run where he was beaten just under three lengths at long odds, and while his 15-start maiden record tempers confidence, he has enough exposed substance to be a genuine danger fresh.
