Verdict

CHEVAL DE BOIS (2) strengthened over the break and is ready to win out to the 1m on a firmer track. Eye-catching first-up fourth, then held a forward position to go under narrowly when second over 7 ¾f at Randwick Kensington. Only has to hold that from to get the better of these. AETHELWULF (1) talented gelding who made a mess of them first-up with a comfortable 5-length victory at Newcastle. Shouldered the 132lbs last start with a respectable fifth over 7f at Newcastle. Zac Lloyd takes the reins and is ready for this trip and further now. Shapes as the main danger. CALL ME MOJO (4) faded late when a month between runs to secure fourth over 1m at Wyong after showing good early speed. Has the upside to give a great sight with Tommy Berry booked. YACHIYO (3) chipped away late over the unsuitable trip first-up when fourth over 6 ½f at Hawkesbury. Raced well over this trip in Victoria last campaign. Maps well and can take a hand in the finish.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Superfecta

A wager involving choosing the first, second, third, and fourth horses in one race in the exact order. A superfecta box involves paying more to ensure they can finish in any order in the top four spots.

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.
