HEARD OF HIM (4) was a rock solid $2.70 favourite first-up over 6 ¼f at Newcastle and looked to have every chance but found a couple better. Improved to win second-up last prep over today's distance at Hawkesbury so the timing looks just right for this promising three-year-old. STAR HALF (2) won his maiden over 6 ¼f at Newcastle two back then probably didn't appreciate going back in trip last time when well beaten here. Worth another chance at his first crack at 7f. AUTUMN FLYER (3) settled back in the field and three-wide so his effort to get up for second recently over 6f here was full of merit. Draws the fence and should relish getting out to 7f for the first time. TIGER TURF (5) appreciated the drop in grade and collected his maiden win at Nowra last start. Harder this time - one for the exotics. The beautifully bred BARBAROSSA (1) is starting to put it together and from a better draw today can play a key role.
