HITCH (4) turned at the tail of the field then let down impressively to get up for second on debut over 6f at Newcastle last start. Suited by the small field and the extra ½f. Perfectly placed to go one better. LOUD AND CLEAR (6) debuted in the same race as Hitch a fortnight ago when he led for home but tired out of the placings late in the piece. Should tighten up following that run and with a soft lead could prove tough to catch. SHORT SEA (7) has chalked up a couple of decent performances in town to launch his career, the latest a fourth over 6f at Canterbury. Drops back a level today and is a great chance to open his account. SKYSTONE (8) gave away a big start before sprouting wings late to get up for second last start over 6f at Newcastle. Should race a lot closer today and is going to be tough to hold out. LORD BASSETT (5) gets a pass mark for his debut at Wyong and is open to plenty of improvement.
