VANTANTE (7) progressive filly rewarded for her consistency with a dominant Maiden victory over 6f at Wagga. Comes back in trip with the 7lbs claim and will prove hard to catch again in the going. TRUMPER (3) well-bred gelding who shed his Maiden tag in good style first-up last prep at Newcastle. Was out of the money in the two subsequent runs and since fitted with the one trial over 4 ¼f at Beaumont Newcastle. Key booking with Tommy Berry aboard and shapes as the main danger. SHOUTABOUTIT (8) comes out of a solid rating contest first-up, with a gritty third over 5 ½f at Gosford. Placed on a heavy track and has returned in good order. RIDE THE RIVER (1) kept finding first-up in a high rating contest with a narrow second over this track and trip. Has the speed to get across from the tricky gate and the nose roll goes on. Respect.
