ROULADEN (3) has raced on the pace then battled on well to finish runner-up in his two runs this prep, the latest over 1m at Gosford. Rock hard fit and the blinkers going on for the first time could be the game changer. ALGORITHMIC (1) missed by a whisker when he attempted to lead all the way first-up at Newcastle. Raced handy again last start but lacked the change of gears required over 6 ¼f at Newcastle. Suited by the step up in distance today. Should be prominent for a long way. RIDGEBACK (5) ran a cheeky race first-up over the mile here then failed badly when extended to 1 ³/16m at the Canberra Acton most recently. Can bounce back in this more suitable contest. LEON RUBEN (10) has been disappointing but gets some weight relief today. Could surprise on a nine-day turnaround. MANDY CANRUN (6) steps up to provincial company for the first time after a couple of nice runs on the south coast. One for the exotics.
