Plenty of win chances. BAYSIDE (4) has been given a few weeks between runs after disappointing last time on the Synthetic at Devonport. Much better draw, drops in weight and has won here. Will be winding up late. TRIBAL COUNCIL (3) ran a better race and finished 1.3 lengths away in fourth last time out over 7f here after racing on speed. Well placed with the big claim and among the main chances with a repeat. LADY FERN (8) is knocking on the door after just missing a lip here last time over 6f. Another big run is expected. GEEGEES DOWNPOUR (5) doesn't win out of turn but ran a nice race last time out over 6f at this track, finishing fourth and beaten 2 lengths. Best figures measure up. Set to run well again off the inside. CRYSTAL MOONBEAM (6) looks a win chance as well. Best form is this course and distance and should be in the finish.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Minus Pool

A pari-mutuel pool – typically a show pool - where one horse is so heavily bet that after deductions there is not enough money left to cover the prescribed minimum on each bet.

Superfecta

A wager involving choosing the first, second, third, and fourth horses in one race in the exact order. A superfecta box involves paying more to ensure they can finish in any order in the top four spots.
