THE TRINE (2) sat handier and bounced straight back into the winners' list when scoring in a CL4 by 2.8L over 7f. He keeps improving and a 7lbs claimer offsets some of the weight rise. He's showing plenty of promise and can go on with the job. EASTCOAST MISS (3) is racing well. Followed a 60 win with a placed effort here in stronger than this. Has a low gate and 4lbs claim and presenting at peak fitness can manage the longer sprint. FIORENTE DE LEGEND (8) continues to frustrate connections with narrow defeats and comes back from a mile today off a 35-day freshen-up. Has a top rider aboard today and deserves another chance. WHIPPIN PICCADILLY (1) is also back from a mile seeking a hat-trick. Carries a lot more weight this grade the claim included, but she will get every chance positioning forward from an inside barrier.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Scratch

A horse is a scratch when injury or other necessity causes it to be withdrawn from the race.
