SOUTHERN AURORAS (5) won her Maiden by a space here four back and has threatened another win each run since. The longer sprint will suit, and she gets the nod in a competitive race. BELLA CHINKARA (6) just missed second up, finishing ahead of the above and building on her impressive Maiden win. She has more to give but the awkward gate tempers expectations somewhat. A live chance regardless. CRIPPS (1) resumes and has come across from Victoria for the occasion. He didn't come up in his two starts last preparation, but showed plenty in his initial campaign. He owns two trial wins and will be right in it if presented on song. The betting will be key. VERHOEVEN (3) deserved his Maiden win and finally draws an inside barrier. A top hoop goes on, replacing the apprentice. He should get every chance to go on.
