DAD AND DAVE (1) seeks the hat-trick off a comfortable win over 1 ¼m and the lightly raced galloper is still on an upward trajectory. The extra 1f will hold no fears, and it's hard d to risk Victoria's premier stable in contests of this ilk. JOHNICH (2) stepped up to 1 ¼m at Flemington and narrowly missed an unlikely win after settling last and covering plenty of ground. The extra metres will suit, and he won't have to improve much to threaten. HELIOSON (7) comes out of the same race and didn't have much luck. Was a good deal shorter in the market than the above and has been given a thorough grounding for this test. Has the inside barrier and a key gear switch and the Payne stable deserves plenty of respect. STOLE HIM (6) led and folded up against the above pair and has raced since at Caulfield, beaten 3L in a 70. Maps well and is in the mix on the quick back-up.
