Verdict

VOSTOKOVA (7) win record hardly excites but looking for this trip at his fifth race start. Shouldered the 132lbs for a plugging fifth over 6 ¾f at Ipswich a week-and-a-half ago. Proven at the trip and drops 13lbs in weight for this after the claim. Leading contender. OCCUPATION (2) well bred gelding rewarded for his consistency at start four with a dominant victory over 7 ¾f at Murwillumbah in the small field. Gets a similar set up again and expected to go on with it now. KHARIF (1) finally got the Maiden win out of the way two back, then finished a gritty second over 7 ¾f at the Gold Coast Poly. Tongue tie goes on and confidence is high. MISS MIDAS TOUCH (8) stretches out to this distance for the first time after she savaged the line with a respectable fourth over 7 ?f here. Regular apprentice sticks and gets map favours here.
