The rise from country company into a harder provincial assignment is noted, but he has already placed at this distance and has upside from a soft draw. HIDDEN NEWS (7) is the clear danger after going under narrowly at Newcastle, with the late hold-up adding merit to that second. Unlucky not to finish closer last start and shapes as the main threat. READY MADE HEIR (5) has the most exposed placing record, comes off a Port Macquarie second as favourite and gets first-time blinkers, although repeated placings rather than wins keep some caution in the assessment. Can hold a position and due for a change of luck. POMELO CHAMOMILE (11) must rebound from a poor Illawarra Grange run, but her nose second at Tuncurry and a solid recent trial keep her in the minor mix. Placed here and look for her late.
