AU - Geraldton - Race 1

LIEUTENANT DUNBAR (4) sets the standard after a much better fourth in a 3yo+ Class 5 over 6f at Bunbury, beaten just over two lengths at big odds. His earlier Belmont Park effort in a 3yo+ Class 3 was only moderate, and the rise to 7f remains the point he has to answer, but this looks a suitable race on recent form. TANGO RHYTHM (5) brings the strongest winning profile, having beaten Western Impact at Carnarvon before finishing fifth behind the same horse when favourite. She now tackles the harder Geraldton assignment, but it wouldn't surprise to see her bounce back to winning ways. CANTILEVER (1) resumes from a long break with excellent Geraldton credentials, including two wins and three places from ten starts at the track and distance, while PRINCE EPAULETTE (2) has been freshened, trialled at Belmont Park, and is capable of improving sharply if his Northam failure is put aside. FORBIDDEN APPLE (6) is next best.
