She will use the low barrier and is well placed at this level with a handy 4lbs claim. SAVAII (7) has been switched from NSW by the Archibald yard, and was last seen 19 days ago beaten 2L over 7f at Goulburn in a 66. That stacks up, and he will be fitter again. VICTORY COMMAND (3) peaks and has been racing in stronger metro contests. Has switched yards on an 18-day return and the blinkers go on again, and the rest of the extra gear comes off. Back to a sprint and can go a lot better at this level. LONE FORCE (12) has the rail and is up to this at best. Tumbles in weight and will be fitter second-up.

Minus Pool

A pari-mutuel pool – typically a show pool - where one horse is so heavily bet that after deductions there is not enough money left to cover the prescribed minimum on each bet.

A sudden veering to the inside or outside rail, often caused by the horse spooking or shying from something.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
