Verdict

EXCESS CAPITAL (4) showed little early pace but warmed to the task late to get up for fourth over this course and distance last start. Likely to be giving away and start again but watch for her late in the piece. FUNKY COLD MEDINA (1) has raced four times, all in the 1000-5 ¼f range, and been competitive on each occasion. Should find this easier than the last outing - just needs to adapt to the more frantic tempo to be highly competitive. STARWARD (3) has been kept fresh since finishing second over 4f at Kilcoy six weeks ago. Has had plenty of chances but still looks one of the better hopes. GOODFELLA FINCH (11) led for the judge but found a couple better late in the piece over 5 ¼f at Inverell recently. That was a big improvement on the first-up run so he might be worth following. ALIZA (12) wasn't beaten far over this course and distance at the latest outing. Should feature again.
