BEST DEFENCE (1) improved effort second up when taken to the front for a narrow third over 5f at this track. Fitter now in a tricky contest. ORCHID BOY (7) back in trip and grade after he wilted late to run fifth over 6f at Bathurst. Assess on the good first up effort and has each way prospects. DIVINE BLESSING (10) was well fancied on debut in a fairly average race when second over 5 ½f at Gulargambone. Looks up to this from the good gate. MI PIACE (2) stalked the solid tempo on debut with an encouraging fourth over this trip at Queanbeyan. Should come on from that run and must be kept safe. HALF GAGE (11) three-year-old Headwater filly on debut for the Rodney Northam yard. Recent trial winner with the apprentice aboard. Keeps safe.
