PEPE (6) closed strongly into fourth in a fast-finishing race here last time. Strips fitter second up and will appreciate stepping out the extra 1 ½f. Expect him to be blending in at the right time from the good draw. GLOBAL ECLIPSE (1) couldn't meet expectations fresh but stuck on okay into second behind a dominant winner. Better with that run under his belt but is drawn sticky, so will need a clever ride. TORO STRIKE (5) was better second up when warming nicely late over 6f at Eagle Farm. Has been freshened 35 days and steps out to a more suitable trip. Has a chance to break a long drought. CAPTAIN EAGLE (3) carries a fitness edge and shoulders peaks that can give this a big shake. Not dismissing.
