Verdict

HAMMOON SENSATION (4) returned from a four-month spell with an outstanding win last start, coming from a long way back on straightening to take out a 7 ½f Rosehill Highway. Both second-up runs in the past have been excellent and he is a winner at the mile. Everything points to another big run. TAIPAN LEGEND (2) was outstanding first-up at Tamworth over 6f then might have been a bit flat at Newcastle last time. Getting out to the mile is key to his chances as he has won five of nine at the trip. MICRO MIKKI (1) made it four minor placings from five runs this prep when he closed hard to grab second in the Coonamble Cup over this distance a fortnight ago. Up sharply in the weights but sure to be competitive again. KAIHOKO (8) did his best work late in a 7 ½f open handicap at Port Macquarie recently. Ready to peak after three runs back from a spell. TALKACHINO (10) is racing well and is in the mix with a bit of luck from a sticky gate.
