VERMEER (2) drops in trip and grade after he did little when a month between runs for a poor eighth over 1 5/16m at Ipswich in BM65 class. Winkers come off and will appreciate a firmer surface. Deserves another chance. RELEASETHEWOLVES (9) win record hardly excites but looks well placed today with the 9lbs claimer aboard and the tongue-tie going on. Strong late when fourth over 7 ½f at Port Macquarie on the heavy (8) surface. Ready for this stronger race. Each way. DIPIERDOMENICO (5) gave away a considerable start with a plugging fifth over 1 ¼m at Quirindi. Senior rider hops back aboard and can take a hand in the finish. VENOM WOLF (3) going well this prep and drops sharply in trip and grade here. Struggled to close off when fourth in the Ken Howard over 1 ¼m at this track. Can return to form.
