Verdict

RUN RORY RUN (5) impressed when fresh from a spell over 6 ¼f at Taree last start, driving hard late to be beaten under a length in a BM82. Doesn't boast a great second-up record but he revels in heavy going and this step up in distance is ideal. GHOST WALKER (4) continued his excellent recent form with a game second in open company over this distance at Port Macquarie last time out. That run followed a 45-day reset so he should exhibit some improvement here. One of the key contenders. SUPREME COMMAND (1) led all the way for a well-deserved win a fortnight ago at Port Macquarie, defeating Ghost Walker. Goes up 5kgs which is a worry but he loves heavy tracks and is in a rich vein of form. CAPO STRADA (2) improved sharply last start when second-up from a break over 7f at Inverell. Needs this sort of trip now so another big run looks on the cards. ZOU BIG BOY (10) is a free roller who is racing well but is without a win for 13 months. Each-way chance down in the weights.

Second run back. First-up after seven months made some head-way from midfield, 3rd of 11 at Taree Bm82 on June 5 over 6 ¼f, on a wet track, 0.8 len behind Koios carrying 125lbs at $31. Previously second-up 3rd of 7 at Muswellbrook Bm66 on July 8 over 6f, on a slow track, 1.5 len behind Myalaby carrying 129lbs at $17. Yet to win in eight second-up runs but this looks an ideal assignment.

Ghost Walker silk

Form hard to fault. At the latest run sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 10 at Port Macquarie Wcpe Cup on June 14 over 7 ½f, slow going 1.2 len behind Supreme Command with 121lbs at $7. The race before that raced on the pace when 2nd of 11 at Wagga 4yo+ Bm66 on April 30 over 1m, 6 len behind Mcadam carrying 139lbs at $3.80. Should enjoy a nice run from the inside gate and on current form is a huge chance.
