UNIVERSAL ENERGY (5) ran a decent race over 5f here on debut then was looking for more ground at his next run when down the track at Port Macquarie. Blinkers on and this looks a far more pleasing scenario. Worth a throw at the stumps at big odds. OPINE (3) started at $4.00 but after going back from a wide alley failed to get involved first-up over this trip at Port Macquarie. Another who may benefit from the addition of shades for the first time. STORMY MARTINI (14) raced handy and showed resilience to hold on for second on debut over 5f at Port Macquarie recently. Plenty of scope for improvement but will need luck from the wide gate. MAGIC SNITZEL (10) was easily accounted for last start over this distance at the Gold Coast in what has turned out to be a strong form race. Gets a few gear changes which might turn things around. Market watch on the promising filly LAST METAPHOR (12) first-up after a brief spell.
