PRESTIGE BLUE (7) has not raced since a moderate sixth on debut over 5f at Grafton in March when in the market. Suspect he will have more to offer this time around. Worth another chance at the start of a new prep in this moderate affair. CERANO MAGIC (1) started at $3.20 but after getting too far back failed to get involved first-up over 5f at Taree. Comes in a bit closer after all the scratchings and is open to sharp improvement. SIDEACT (5) is back from a spell after just one run in the maiden prep, a slogging second in heavy going at Taree on 30 June. Draws a nice gate and will give a good account again. Market watch on first starter OUR RED RIPPER (3) who placed in a recent trial. I'M GUESSING (10) is back after a nine-month spell. Not far away at the only run last prep. Should go well while fresh again.

A workout is a timed sprint over varying distances prior to a race, meant to get a horse fit enough for competition.

Trifecta

A wager picking the first, second and third horses in the exact order. A trifecta box means paying more to ensure the horses can finish in any order in the top three spots.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
