Verdict

The weakest of maidens. OSCARS NO GROUCH (1) finished eighth last time but did hit the line hard from the back. Wide draws last three runs but gets a better gate here. Has placed 5/9 so far and only try this trip ran on hard into a close-up fourth. Will not get a better chance to break through. STATE OF BOOM (4) resumed at this trip and gave a sight in front but in the two runs since has been back at 6f and wound up strongly at each. Can sit closer over the longer trip and should be at top now. DIAMOND CHOUX (6) is close to a win, the latest a fast-finishing fifth at Northam over the weekend. On the quick back-up and won't be far away with a repeat of that run. MOOSE (11) is a first starter and wouldn't have to be a star to claim this on debut. Well educated with several trials and expected to measure up. HAMADRYAD (8) has been racing over sharper trips and could improve out in journey now.
