Verdict

MODELISTIC (7) has been finishing off nicely from miles back in his recent runs, but the last time he drew a gate he went close to winning in a similar race. Brad Parnham sticks with him here and the inside draw should see him settle closer. Makes plenty of appeal. CHEYNE BAY (1) is racing in good order, stepping out to 1 ?m last start and closing nicely in a CL3 event. This looks a little easier on paper and he can improve again getting out in distance today. Should be at peak fitness and another forward showing is on the cards. POPPY'S ROSES (11) jumped favourite last start in a 1 ¹/16m maiden at Bunbury and was beaten in a photo finish. The form out of that has been strong however and CJP sticking with her is a positive sign. Can improve again out in trip and she can shed the maiden tag. IRAYCHOUX (2) is better than we saw last time out and can bounce back dropping in grade. ANNIE WARBUCKS (6) is another who can bounce back.

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.

Superfecta

A wager involving choosing the first, second, third, and fourth horses in one race in the exact order. A superfecta box involves paying more to ensure they can finish in any order in the top four spots.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
