WEEKEND SPIRIT (4) was safely held when fifth last time out over 6 ¾f at Ipswich, beaten 7 lengths. That followed a win at Sunshine Coast at the previous outing. Enjoys a drop in grade so he will prove hard to beat. ED I AM (7) displayed plenty of early toe over 6 ¾f at Warwick last time and dug deep to score by a neck. Goes up a rung or two but he is good enough to figure in the finish. GAS BRIGADE (8) doesn't have the best strike rate but ran a strong race when resuming from a spell last time out over 7f at Sunshine Coast, finishing fourth and beaten 2 lengths. Strips fitter now and is nicely placed to play a pivotal role. CHEERFUL CAT (9) doesn't win out of turn but is usually thereabouts and is a must for the exotics players.
