AU - Barcaldine - Race 3

SOOPAT (1) continues to race consistently this prep on the picnic circuit, including a solid third over 5f at Mt Isa last start. He has genuine early speed and he will benefit from a 4lbs claim this time. Stick with him on top. MAGICAL SLIPPER (2) had no luck in her penultimate start, and then just battled on the tight Quilpie circuit last time out. Expect something better on her home track this time. Each-way. NORTHUMBRIA (4) resumed with a tiring effort over 5 ½f at Rockhampton a fortnight ago after working forward early. He normally improves with racing, and with 12lbs less to carry here, he can figure in the top 4. BONDURANT (3) needed his fresh run at Flinton badly, and he failed to fire in his first run from the local Patrick O'Toole stable. Include in all top 4 combos to be safe. FLYING RUPERT (9) returned from a spell last start and will take benefit from that outing. He has the coveted pole position this time, and in an even field, he can spice up any combos.
