FUNKY COLD MEDINA (2) improved last start but found one better over the 4 ¼f burner at Gatton, beaten a head. Strips rock-hard fit and gets his chance to break through. CHECKS'N'BALANCES (8) is yet to break through after six career starts. Managed to find the placings at Grafton two starts back when resuming before finishing fourth over 6f at Port Macquarie last time. Should be in the mix. Change of scenery for LUCKY CRIMSON (11) with 46 days between runs. Better suited in this company and is drawn cosy. Worth keeping an eye on.
