Verdict

ROYAL TORONADO (6) creates plenty of interest here off a strong first-up performance when flashing late over 6f. Straight out to 1 ?m here doesn't look an issue with his profile and he's won 2/5 second-up. Gets Pike now and he looks poised to strike. ASIF (4) won well two back before sticking on gamely on the 7-day turnaround, beaten 0.5L at the mile. Out to 1 ?m again now where he's unbeaten and he looks to get all the favours. Can go one better this time. SOLDANELLE (7) was strong late in the Detonator when 0.9L off the winner in a close finish. The smaller field here should suit and Chris Parnham now hops on board. Watch for her late in the race. FAMOUS DAIN (2) was just fair in the Detonator but he was racing in good order prior to that. Can bounce back to his best now. ROYAL LAW (3) is second-up here and creates some interest on the back of a solid return effort.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.
