Verdict

SLUGWORTH (6) ran a good race when second at a recent Goondiwindi picnic meeting over 1 ?m, and an extra 1f here is ideal at this stage of his prep. Zac Wadick in the saddle is a strong lead, and he can go one better. AURORA EFFECT (7) is knocking on the door after finishing less than a length from the winner over 21f at Grafton last time out. That effort was full of merit and another bold showing is expected. FABS CUZ (2) looks hard to beat after a strong third at Moree over 1m, racing on the speed throughout and beaten by a length and a half. He has won at his only attempt over this trip and looks ideally placed to strike again. COMPADRE (1) will find this easier than his last start at Muswellbrook, and stepping up to 1 ³/16m will help him. With some luck from a wide gate, he is good enough to figure in the top 4. EVONY (8) has found the line nicely in her last couple of starts, and an extra 1 ½f to travel here is the key. Each way value.
