Verdict

RIVERBEND GOLD (10) is the horse to beat after putting together a win and a second at Corowa over 1m, the latest a neck victory in CL1 company at generous odds. The return to 7f is the query, but his record with Cory Parish is a major asset and his form this campaign is the most persuasive. BIFURCATION (12) is the main danger, with her Wagga fifth better than it reads after she was restrained early and picked up nicely from well back. KASUMA GODDESS (14) can fly late in the race once again under Boudvillain. GIANT'S REPRIEVE (8) won his only start last campaign at Wangaratta, though that was over a year ago now. Been off the scene a while but has shown enough talent to suggest he can fire off the long break.
