Forward showing anticipated. SMART AND MIGHTY (2) comes here deep into the prep and worth another chance after finishing a disappointing sixth when fav over 5f at Hanging Rock. Placed at Yarra Valley two back and can return to form. GOLD THUNDER (6) improving with racing and like the way he held on when a narrow on-pace fifth over 5f at Cranbourne. Will need a good ride from the gate in this weaker contest. Each way. MIDNIGHT EAGLE (4) slashing debut at the big odds when second over 5 ½f at Wodonga in the heavy conditions last August. Poorly drawn and not to be overlooked.
