Grizzlies vs. Lakers Game 4 Analysis
The Lakers will head into Game 4 full of confidence coming off their demolition of Memphis in Game 3. Memphis, with Ja Morant back in action, started slow, losing the first quarter by 26, and never recovered.
A silver lining for the Grizzlies heading into Game 4 was Morant's play in the second half, which saw him score 22 consecutive points. After missing Game 2 with a hand injury, Morant finished Game 3 with 45 points, 13 assists, and 9 rebounds on 13-26 shooting, including 6-10 from behind the arc. Morant being healthy enough to produce at that level is critical for Memphis' chances of winning this series.
To win Game 4 and regain homecourt advantage, Memphis will need to reverse a trend that has seen them win just 3 of 10 road playoff games since the 2020-21 postseason. Their struggles on the road in the playoffs mirror their regular season road struggles, which saw them win just 16 of 41 games this year.
It will be a difficult task: after going 14-14 at home pre-All-Star break, the Lakers are 9-4 since, including 7 wins in their last 8.
