Austria were shock winners of Group D, totaling six points to best France for the top spot. Austria got wins over Poland (3-1) and the Netherlands (3-2) but lost to France (2-0).

Going by the expected goals (xG) data from FBRef's model, things don't look as great for Austria. Overall, they scored 3.8 xG and gave up 5.3 xG. Their -1.5 xG differential is the sixth-worst among all teams in Euro 2024 through the group phase.

Turkey also recorded two wins and a loss, defeating the Czech Republic (2-1) and Georgia (3-1) but falling to Portugal (3-0).

Turkey's xG numbers are pretty solid as they've amassed 5.1 xG while giving up 4.8 xG.

Opta's model favors Austria, giving them win odds of 44.7%. Turkey to win (29.8%) and a draw (25.5%) are nearly equally likely.

MasseyRatings falls right in line with those numbers, projecting Austria to win 45% of the time while handing Turkey 28% win odds.
