College Basketball Prop Bets

No. 8 Auburn Tigers at Alabama Crimson Tide

Johni Broome Over 8.5 Rebounds (+104)

The SEC features a must-see clash on Wednesday between in-state rivals Auburn and Alabama. Best of all, both teams are playing high-level ball, ranking among KenPom's top eight teams in the nation. The Tigers are touting the fourth-shortest odds to cut down the nets in March (+1500) when looking at FanDuel's college basketball national champion odds.

However, Auburn has yet to grab a quad one win -- a home win against a NET top-30 team, a neutral win against a NET top-50 team, or a road win against a NET top-75 team. The Tigers are looking to record their best win of the year with the Crimson Tide ranking ninth in the NCAA's NET Rankings.

To escape Tuscaloosa with a win, Auburn could rely on their ability to crash the glass. The Tigers are an excellent offensive rebounding team, ranking in the 95th percentile of offensive rebounding percentage. Alabama ranks outside the top 100 in defensive rebounding percentage, creating a prime opportunity for Auburn to gain extra possessions.

No player could benefit more than Johni Broome, who leads the Tigers with 8.4 rebounds per game. He ranks fourth in the SEC with a 13.0% offensive rebounding percentage and leads the team with 2.6 offensive rebounds per game.

The Crimson Tide have given up 10.6 offensive rebounds per game over their last five games. This mark would rank in the bottom 5% in college basketball. Frankly, Alabama has struggled in this category for most of the season with opponents averaging 9.1 offensive rebounds per contest (bottom 40% for defenses).

As one of the nation's top offensive rebounders, Broome could feast on the glass, going over 8.5 boards.

Kansas State Wildcats at No. 23 Iowa State Cyclones

Arthur Kaluma Over 12.5 Points (+100)

Kansas State may be outmatched on Wednesday against Iowa State, as the Wildcats have the fourth-worst KenPom rating in the Big 12 at 57th. Meanwhile, the Cyclones rank 13th in KenPom while carrying the fourth-shortest odds to win the Big 12 (+800), per FanDuel's college basketball odds.

Iowa State could be without their top player tonight, as Tamin Lipsey, who has EvanMiya's eighth-best Bayesian Performance Rating (BPR) in the nation, is questionable with an injury. The Cyclones hang their hat on elite defense (third-best adjusted defensive efficiency), but their unit could be in trouble without their top defender in Lipsey (79.7 defensive rating).

After holding opponents to 57.9 points per game (PPG) over an eight-game span, ISU has allowed 79.5 PPG over their previous two games. This could mean some success for the Wildcats' top scorers.

Arthur Kaluma, who ranks second on the team with 15.2 PPG, could be a wise prop bet. His +100 odds to reach 13 points look too good to pass on.

First off, Kaluma has played well in recent games and comes off 23 points -- his second-highest mark of the season. The Creighton transfer has drastically improved his three-point shooting with a 41.1% shooting percentage. For reference, his previous career-high was 31.1%. Over his last four games, Kaluma has shot 12 of 22 from three (54.5%).

His three-point shooting is a major supporting point for reaching 13 points, as opponents take 47.3% of their shots from deep against Iowa State, which is in the bottom 1% for defenses in college basketball. Kaluma frequently shoots threes with 40.1% of his field goal attempts taking place from beyond the arc.

The Cyclones could also throw one of their weakest defenders at Kaluma; forward Tre King has the second-lowest Defensive Bayesian Performance Rating in Iowa State's starting lineup at 2.01.

Considering Kaluma's hot streak from three, he could roll to the over thanks to a favorable matchup against the Cyclones.
