Buccaneers vs. Cowboys Picks: 3 NFL Best Bets, Player Prop Bets for TNF

Cowboys vs Bucs Prop Bets at a Glance

  • Jalon Daniels 50+ Rushing Yards (+104)
  • George Pickens Anytime Touchdown (+115)
  • George Pickens 60+ Receiving Yards (-128)

Thursday Night Football brings us a matchup between two teams heading in very different directions as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

Tampa Bay enters Week 5 at 0-4 and will once again turn to undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels due to Baker Mayfield being sidelined by a thumb injury. Daniels showed off his rushing ability in his first NFL start last week, but he'll now be asked to keep pace with a Dallas offense that has scored at least 20 points in every game this season.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, are coming off a 34-30 win over the Houston Texans and enter this matchup as sizable home favorites. With Dallas boasting plenty of offensive firepower and Tampa Bay dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball, there are some intriguing betting angles to consider on Thursday night.

Using the NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook as a guide, here are the best bets for Thursday’s Buccaneers at Cowboys matchup.

Bucs vs Cowboys Player Props, Picks for Thursday Night Football

Jalon Daniels 50+ Rushing Yards (+104)

Jalon Daniels - Alt Rushing Yds
Jalon Daniels 50+ Yards

In his NFL debut, Jalon Daniels was excellent as a runner, and I think this game sets up well for him to scramble a lot.

Daniels ran it eight times for 55 yards last week. He struggled through the air (148 passing yards), but given that he’s an undrafted rookie who was forced into a start this early in the season, Daniels did a serviceable job overall.

The Dallas Cowboys‘ defense is really struggling, and they’ve allowed the most rushing yards per game to QBs (47.0). As an added bonus, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 8.5-point road ‘dogs. That should set up a game script that leads to plenty of Daniels’ drop backs, which means more chances to scramble.

Fifty yards is a high bar to clear for any QB, but Daniels is an explosive runner in a matchup where he should be able to show off his running prowess.

George Pickens Anytime Touchdown (+115)

Any Time Touchdown Scorer

CeeDee Lamb has been unbelievable so far this year, running as Dallas’ clear WR1 over George Pickens, who has yet to score a TD this season. I can see that changing on TNF.

Through four weeks, Lamb has 46 targets to Pickens’ 28 as well as 498 yards to Pickens’ 225. While Lamb is a monster, I think there’s some small-sample noise at play. A year ago, Pickens actually had more catches per game (5.5 to 5.4) and receiving yards per game (84.1 to 76.9) than Lamb did.

The market expects Dallas to be able to move the ball really well, listing the Cowboys at -111 odds to go over 29.5 points. Pickens is due for a big game, and with his big-play ability, he’s capable of ripping off a chunk gain on any grab.

I like him to find the end zone against the Bucs, and I’m also backing Pickens to go for at least 60 receiving yards.
