Arnold Palmer Invitational Daily Fantasy Targets

These picks stand out relative to their FanDuel daily fantasy golf salary. All stats cited below originate at datagolf and reference ranks relative to the field over the past 50 rounds unless otherwise noted.

Arnold Palmer Invitational Daily Fantasy Studs

Scottie Scheffler ($12,400 | +650)

Choosing between Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Viktor Hovland at the top of this week’s talented field is a difficult decision. All three rank inside the top five in total strokes gained, strokes gained: tee to green, and strokes gained: off the tee. They all also have excellent course history, as Hovland has finished T2 and T10 in his last two appearances, McIlroy hasn't finished worse than T13 since 2016, and Scheffler has finished T15, 1st, and T4 in his three appearances.

Despite Scheffler’s struggles with the flat stick -- he is 67th out of 69 golfers in the field in strokes gained: putting -- his edge on strokes gained: approach has me leaning his way this week. Scheffler’s +1.41 strokes gained: approach per round is more than double McIlroy’s (+0.58) and nearly double Hovland’s (+0.76). He has the edge on win odds, too, and has finished T17 or better in all five of his events this season, including four top-10 finishes.

Scheffler has gained strokes putting in two of his last three events, and his putting at this event has not been as poor as his overall average. In his last two appearances at Bay Hill, he posted –0.14 strokes gained: putting per round (2023) and +1.13 strokes gained: putting per round (2022).

Xander Schauffele ($11,800 | +1600)

Xander Schauffele is coming off a T4 finish at The Genesis, his fourth top-10 finish in five events this season. He is the only golfer in the field that ranks inside the top 10 in strokes gained: putting (9th) and strokes gained: approach (5th). He is also the only golfer who ranks inside the top 20 in all strokes gained categories. In his two appearances at this event, Schauffele has finished T24 and T39 and gained at least 1.0 strokes per round with the flat stick in both.

Others to Consider:

  • Rory McIlroy ($12,100 | +900)
  • Ludvig Aberg ($11,300 | +1800)
  • Sam Burns ($10,900 | +2500)
  • Cameron Young ($10,800 | +2500)

Arnold Palmer Invitational Daily Fantasy Mid-Range Plays

Adam Scott ($9,700 | +5500)

Adam Scott is enjoying an excellent start to his season, with top-20 finishes in all six of his events, including four top-10s. He ranks 6th in the field in strokes gained: approach, 22nd in strokes gained: off the tee, and 25th in strokes gained: putting. His weakness, sitting 57th in strokes gained: around the green, is downplayed this week.

Scott has lost strokes on approach in his last four appearances at Bay Hill but enters this week having gained strokes on approach in four consecutive events. He is one of only two players this week who ranks inside the top 25 in strokes gained: putting, strokes gained: approach, strokes gained: off the tee, and strokes gained: tee to green -- the other is Hovland.

Corey Conners ($9,500 | +6000)

Corey Conners struggles with the flat stick are a concern -- he has lost strokes putting in five of his six events this season -- but he has been fantastic tee to green. Conners has gained strokes on approach and off the tee in all six of his events this season and in his last four appearances at Bay Hill.

He is 6th in the field in strokes gained: off the tee, 11th in strokes gained: tee to green, 12th in strokes gained: approach, and 26th in total strokes gained. He is also ninth in the field in driving accuracy. After missing the cut in his first two appearances at this event, Conners has finished T21 or better in each of his last three, including a 3rd place finish in 2021.

Others to Consider:

  • Jake Knapp ($9,800 | +5500)
  • Keegan Bradley ($9,800 | +6000)
  • Byeong Hun An ($9,400 | +4500)

Arnold Palmer Invitational Daily Fantasy Values

Erik van Rooyen ($8,600 | +7000)

Erik van Rooyen enters this week with two top-10 finishes in the last two weeks. He is 9th in the field in strokes gained: approach, 19th in strokes gained: off the tee, 22nd in strokes gained: putting, and 17th in total strokes gained. His struggles around the green are a concern, the second-worst in the field this week in strokes gained: around the green, but he has been closer to average so far this season and has decent win odds for his FanDuel salary.

Tom Hoge ($8,200 | +9000)

Tom Hoge ranks inside the top 20 in both strokes gained: approach (3rd) and strokes gained: putting (19th). He ranks 56th in strokes gained: off the tee, which is cause for concern, but he enters this week having gained strokes off the tee in four consecutive events and five of his last six.

Hoge has gained more than 1.0 strokes on approach per round in six of his eight events this season and gained strokes putting in seven. Since missing the cut at the Sony Open, Hoge has four top-20 finishes, including two top-10 finishes at the last two signature events, The Genesis Invitational (8th) and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM (T6).

Others to Consider:

  • Matthieu Pavon ($8,900 | +10000)
  • Adam Hadwin ($8,500 | +7500)
  • Adam Svensson ($8,500 | +12000)
