In no particular order:
College Basketball Games to Watch
San Diego State at Nevada (Friday)
Can the Mountain West really get six teams into the NCAA Tournament? Don't rule it out of the realm of possibility if the Wolf Pack win this game. This is the start of a massive five-day stretch for Steve Alford's squad, who will also host New Mexico on Tuesday. Both are Quad 1 opportunities.
Creighton at Xavier (Saturday)
The Bluejays have been taken to the Gates of Hell in the last week, losing back-to-back games against Butler and Providence by a combined four points.
And Xavier? The Musketeers can officially put themselves "in position to be in position" for the NCAA Tournament if they pick up a Quad 1 victory at home on Saturday. This is the Big East at its best.
Gonzaga at Kentucky (Saturday)
John Calipari's best teams have always played elite defense. This one does not. The Wildcats -- who are +3500 to win the national title, per FanDuel Sportsbook's college basketball odds -- have allowed their last three opponents at Rupp Arena to average 97.7 points.
That's music to the ears of Gonzaga, who wants to attack and score. Expect a shootout on Saturday in Lexington.
Baylor at Kansas (Saturday)
Is this the game where Ja'Kobe Walter finally breaks out of his shooting slump? The five-star freshman is averaging only 7.7 points in his last three games while shooting just 21.7 percent from the field and 23 percent from three-point range during that span.
The Jayhawks -- listed at +750 to win the Big 12's regular-season crown -- are more vulnerable than they've been in past years but have still yet to lose this season at Allen Fieldhouse.
St. John's at Marquette (Saturday)
The Red Storm were a point short a few weeks ago when these teams played at Madison Square Garden, but that game was played without Jordan Dingle.
The Penn transfer has emerged as St. John's X-Factor, as the Red Storm are 9-4 when he scores in double figures this season and 4-4 when he does not. If Dingle has a big game and Rick Pitino can neutralize the Golden Eagles' second-chance opportunities, St. John's may have a chance to steal one in Milwaukee.
Marquette has quietly won six straight and is +1900 to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
