Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Leon Draisaitl To Record 2+ Points (+138)

A 3.98 implied goal total for the Edmonton Oilers leads tonight's slate and gives us a high expectation for scoring.

The matchup against the Washington Capitals is a good one and points to some serious upside for the Oilers' offense. Since the start of March, the Capitals have allowed the sixth-most (66.24) Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations.

We've seen them only allow 1.78 Goals during this time, which is actually the 12th-best in the league. However, if we look at their Expected Goals Allowed (xGA), they are up 2.61, which is the 13th-worst in the league.

They're due for some negative regression when it comes to the number of goals they are allowing simply because they are allowing a very high volume of shot attempts.

This brings me to Leon Draisaitl for 2+ points tonight, who comes in with 14 points in his last 10 games. Seeing time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit will always put him in a great spot for production. This is a simple two points, doesn't matter if they are goals or assists, anything will suffice.

Kevin Fiala Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+112)

The Los Angeles Kings are in a very tight playoff race and it's time for them to lean on their best players.

There's no time to mess around anymore and teams need to keep things simple with their gameplan. For the Kings, that should be looking to push the pace on offense tonight against the St. Louis Blues, who are struggling on defense recently.

Since the start of March, the Blues' defense has allowed 69.71 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the second worst in the league. This is an ideal matchup for the Kings so let's turn to one of their key players, Kevin Fiala.

Over their last 10 games, Fiala has 33 shots on goal, which leads the Kings. With a role on the first power-play unit and the second forward line, Fiala will have consistent chances to pile up the shots.

J.T. Miller Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+100)

Two of the highest-scoring offenses go head-to-head tonight, which should give us the best game of the night.

That would be the Colorado Avalanche visiting the Vancouver Canucks, where we see a solid 6.5 over/under tonight.

The Avs are on the second night of a back-to-back, which can hopefully benefit the Canucks' offense. Also, since the start of March, the Avs have allowed 64.82 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the seventh worst in the league.

This should present a chance for the Canucks to jump on some tired legs and pile up the shots. We'll turn to J.T. Miller, who comes in with 28 shots on goal over his last 10 games, while being on the second forward line and first power-play unit.
