Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Artemi Panarin To Record 1+ Power-Play Point (+140)

The New York Rangers have a slate-high 3.55 implied goal total and should be able to pour in some goals.

A 6.5 over/under and both teams in the top 13 of the league in goals is always a good indication we should see some scoring tonight.

We specifically want to see some goals on the power play, so let's turn to Artemi Panarin for a power-play point. It can be either a goal or an assist and we're getting it at solid plus money.

This season, Panarin has a total of 87 points, 34 of which have come on the power-play. We've seen that on display as of late with Panarin picking up six power-play points in his last 10 games.

This shouldn't be a surprise since the Rangers come in with the fifth-best (25.9%) power play in the NHL this season. The New Jersey Devils penalty kill is 15th (79.1%) in the league this season, making them the definition of average.

A back-and-forth game environment should be expected tonight and when the Rangers get on the power play, they have shown to be deadly this season, putting Panarin in a great spot.

David Pastrnak Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (-106)

Any time we can get David Pastrnak near even money, we should look to take it.

Pasta leads the entire NHL with 319 shots on goal through 66 games or 4.8 shots per game. This is the standard for one of the best goal-scorers in the league and now has a matchup where he should be able to put that on display.

Over the last two weeks, the St. Louis Blues have allowed 71.17 Total Shot Attempts against, which is the worst in the NHL.

Pastrnak is coming off a game with just a pair of shots on goal, making this a clear bounce-back spot against a very weak defense. With Pastrnak seeing time on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, he should continue his role as the Boston Bruins primary shot taker in all situations.

Jack Hughes Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (+100)

Another prop from the Devils at the Rangers' game, this time with Jack Hughes.

While the Devils are slipping out of the playoff picture, Hughes maintains a high level of consistency when it comes to his shot volume. Over the last 10 games, Hughes has 55 shots on goal, while seeing time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit.

While the Rangers have been hot in terms of picking up wins in the last two weeks, they've also allowed 61.80 Total Shots Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the 13th-worst in the league.

When it comes to the Devils, over that same time they are generating 64.18 Total Shot Attempts, which is the sixth-best in the league. Hughes has been over this 4.5 mark in half of his last 10 games, which he should be able to extend tonight.
