NHL Prop Bets

Carter Verhaeghe To Score a Goal (+135)

The Florida Panthers have a solid 3.38 implied goal total against the Nashville Predators, in a clear bounce-back spot.

After a nine-game winning streak in the early portion of the month, the Panthers have found themselves amidst a four-game losing streak. The highs and lows of the regular season happen to everyone and this is a chance for them to right the ship.

Over the last two weeks, the Panthers' offense is only scoring 2.20 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is 19th in the NHL. However, their Expected Goals Scored (xGF) is up at 2.92 in the same situations, which is the fifth-best in the league.

They are due for an offensive outburst and it's a good time to essentially buy low on some of their players.

This leads me to Carter Verhaeghe, who has the second-most shots (148) and goals (23) on the Panthers this season. He skates on the second forward line and the first power-play unit but comes in with just a single goal and 13 shots on goal over his last five games.

Their offense is due for an explosion and Verhaeghe has played a key part in that thus far this season, no time to stop trusting him now.

Adrian Kempe To Score a Goal (+135)

A strong 3.51 implied goal total for the Los Angeles Kings makes them a clear target for goals tonight.

That is because they are taking on the San Jose Sharks, who are the worst team in the NHL.

On the season, the Sharks have allowed 3.20 Goals and 68.38 Total Shot Attempts, both per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which are the worst and second-worst in the league, respectively.

Every single night the team going against the Sharks has the potential to pile up the goals, which leads us to the Kings.

Adrian Kempe is in the middle of a goalless drought right now but this matchup is the perfect time for him to finally find the back of the net. Over his last seven games, Kempe has no goals but 15 shots on goal, while skating on the first forward line and the first power-play unit.

His role is there, the volume of shots is there, and the matchup is there. Time for him to end this drought and light the lamp.

Conor Garland Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+116)

With a massive 4.23 implied goal total, the Vancouver Canucks have massive upside versus the Chicago Blackhawks.

This is about as straightforward of a matchup as you can possibly imagine. The Canucks sit atop the NHL with 66 points and have the second-most (176) goals scored this season. They are an absolute wagon from top to bottom and are relentless on offense.

On the other side, the Blackhawks are a disaster on defense and allow 66.33 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-worst in the league this season.

I'll turn to Conor Garland, who sees time on the second forward line and the second power-play unit, which has him coming in with 26 shots on goal over his last 10 games.

The matchup is fantastic and the odds for Garland offer clear value tonight.
