NHL Prop Bets

Connor McDavid To Score a Goal (+110)

The Edmonton Oilers have a slate-high 3.66 implied goal total and are at home to take on the Minnesota Wild.

A small three-game slate to close out the week is led by the Oilers, which means we are turning directly to Connor McDavid. Surprisingly, McDavid is in the midst of a goal drought.

Over his last seven games, he has no goals but has still managed to pile up 17 assists, and 17 shots on goal. It's not often the best player in the league goes this long without a goal and while his odds aren't super high tonight, it's a great matchup for him to finally find the back of the net.

In the last two weeks, the Wild have allowed 2.97 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the 11th-worst in the league. During that same time, the Oilers' offense has scored a whopping 3.97 Goals per 60 minutes in the same situations, which is the second-best in the league.

They're scoring all of these goals, yet McDavid isn't involved. Maybe it's been a bit of bad puck luck but he has a great chance to light the lamp tonight.

Josh Morrissey Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-108)

The Winnipeg Jets have a favorable matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, which should lead to plenty of shots on goal.

Over the last two weeks, the Blackhawks' defense has allowed 66.64 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fifth-worst in the league. That's been the story all season long for Chicago and it won't be changing over the final stretch of the regular season.

We can regularly look for shot props against them and tonight that leads me to Josh Morrissey, who is on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit.

Morrissey averages 2.4 shots on goal per game this season, which has seen a slight dip to 1.7 per game over his last 10 games.

However, the Jets as a team have the 12th-highest (62.61) Total Shot Attempts created per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations over the last two weeks, and this is a super soft matchup for them to show that.

Evan Bouchard To Record 1+ Assists (-104)

As noted above, the Oilers have a big 3.66 implied goal total, and we should look to get some extra props in other markets.

Evan Bouchard is the defender on the first power-play unit, which means he skates alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, which brings plenty of scoring upside.

That is important since they are taking on the Wild, who come in with the third-worst (74.5%) penalty-kill percentage this season.

Bouchard is having a great season, which has led to him piling up 39 assists in 53 games so far. That means 74% of his total points are from assists this season, with 18 of the 39 coming as power-play assists.

Picking up assists has been his calling card this season and with a high goal expectation tonight, Bouchard is in a great spot to grab an apple.
