Brian Robinson Any Time Touchdown (+135)
The Washington Commanders are 3.0-point road favorites to take on their rivals, the New York Giants.
There are a few key points to note that put Brian Robinson in a great spot to find the end zone this week.
We'll start with the matchup against the Giants' defense, which has been terrible against running backs this season. So far, the Giants have allowed the third-most (796) rushing yards to running backs, along with the third-most (7) rushing touchdowns.
They simply can't stop opposing teams from moving the ball on the ground, and it creates one of the best matchups of the day.
Next, there should be significant winds at this game, which can have an impact on the passing game. Winds are expected to be 20 mph sustained, with gusts around 35 mph.
Conditions such as these make it very difficult to move the ball in the passing game and generally push teams to utilize the running game more -- which Washington should be doing anyway with this easy matchup.
When it comes to Robinson, he controls 52% of Washington's rush attempts, which is relatively modest overall.
However, when it comes to the red zone, he is their main option. Robinson has a 59% red zone rushing share while the next highest player is at 13%. For rushing attempts inside the 10-yard line, Robinson is at 66% and the next player is at 11%. For rushing attempts inside the 5-yard line, Robinson is at a whopping 83% when the next player is at 16%.
This paints a clear picture that when the Commanders get to the scoring area, Robinson is the main option on the ground. Add in a terrible Giants rush defense, and he's primed to find his way into the end zone.
Lamar Jackson Over 216.5 Passing Yards (-114)
The Baltimore Ravens have a good matchup for the passing game this week, putting Lamar Jackson in a spot to pile up the yards.
The Ravens are 3.0-point home favorites against the Detroit Lions, where we see a 43.5 over/under. The Lions are looking great right now, and the one thing they are amazing at is stopping the running game.
To this point in the season, the Lions have allowed only 388 rushing yards -- 64.7 per game -- which tops the NFL. When it comes to their passing game, though, they've allowed 1,327 yards -- 221.2 per game -- which is the 12th-most in the league.
They are an elite run defense and a middle-of-the-road pass defense. While the Ravens only pass the ball on 48.21% of plays -- the second-lowest in the league -- they do not have a matchup that will allow them to easily rush the ball.
This should cause them to lean on Jackson in the passing game and enable him to rack up some yards. While the Ravens like to run, this is a difficult matchup on the ground, and their passing game should take center stage this week with Jackson leading the way.
Gardner Minshew Under 197.5 Passing Yards (-114)
The Cleveland Browns' defense is elite and having any sort of success against them doesn't come easily.
The Browns are coming off a bye and bring their elite defense to take on Gardner Minshew and the Indianapolis Colts. The easy way to put things is that Minshew is in an incredibly difficult matchup this week, and there are very few paths to success. But, there's more to it than just that, so let's dive in.
In five games this season, the Browns are allowing a total of 200.4 yards per game from opposing offenses.
That's not just passing yards per game; that's passing and rushing. They are holding teams to 121.4 passing yards per game, which is the best in the league, and 79.0 rushing yards per game, which is the third-best.
Both their quarterback pressures per drop back (28.1%) and quarterback knockdowns per pass attempt (17.3%) are in the league's top six. This leads to their defense only allowing 4.1 net yards gained per pass attempt, which is the second-best in the league.
No matter how you slice it, the Browns are truly one of the best defenses in the league. All of this will have Minshew in a difficult matchup, and a lack of overall efficiency will cause him to hit the under on this prop.
