MLB Player Props

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to Record 2+ Hits (+160)

Quietly, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has figured it out at the plate. As a result, I like him to Record 2+ Hits (+160) tonight for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Guerrero is hitting .295 with a wOBA of .360 -- which would be his best mark since the 2021 season. The power hasn't been there too much, hitting just five home runs thus far, but he's making hard contact (40.9% hard-hit rate) and it's falling. That's the type of play that allows Guerrero to be an appealing option for bettors tonight in a plus matchup against the Chicago White Sox.

Prior to his recent two games where he recorded just one hit, the first baseman had notched two or more hits in three of four games. I expect him to get back into the swing of things against White Sox starter Chris Flexen.

The Blue Jays have a solid 4.78 implied total against Flexen and the White Sox, per numberFire's heat map.

Flexen has been a pitcher to bet against this season as he's struggled. The righty has an inflated ERA of 5.69 to go along with a 46.8% fly-ball rate and 4.71 SIERA. The most important and notable stat of his season is his 1.37 WHIP -- showing that he's allowing baserunners and hits. That's good news for Guerrero tonight.

Juan Soto to Record 2+ Total Bases (-115)

Going with lefty-on-lefty matchups can be a problem -- unless you're rolling with Juan Soto. It's why he should be good to Record 2+ Total Bases (-115) against the Los Angeles Angels.

Soto has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season, which is why he's the favorite to win the AL MVP, sporting +260 AL MVP odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. The New York Yankees' outfielder is hitting .312 with a .425 wOBA and .581 slugging percentage. Against lefties, he's been able to hold up his numbers with a .386 wOBA and .897 OPS -- plus a .321 average to boot.

Soto and the Yankees will face Angels starter Tyler Anderson. Anderson has been good, but once you dive in a bit more, it's apparent the Yankees' lineup can make noise against him.

Anderson has a 2.52 ERA this season, but a 4.62 expected ERA (xERA) and 4.86 SIERA are the type of numbers that should spell trouble sooner than later. The lefty is allowing a 47.6% fly-ball rate this season and has a 4.30 FIP. Soto shouldn't have a problem earning himself two bases, especially with his 44.4% hard-hit rate and 33.9% fly-ball rate.

The 25-year-old brings confidence to the batter's box, and that should lead to confidence tonight for anyone considering him.

Jose Ramirez to Record 3+ Total Bases (+105)

Jose Ramirez has not been slowed down as of late, and it's hard to pick against him when he's still got Coors Field to swing at.

The third baseman has been an extra-base hit machine this season, swatting 16 home runs while adding 12 doubles and a triple. In his two games against the Colorado Rockies in this series, he has recorded four hits -- all of which have been for extra bases. The hot streak shouldn't slow down tonight with the Colorado Rockies starting lefty Ty Blach.

Blach has a 4.55 ERA, 4.82 SIERA, and doesn't miss many bats -- as his 10.5% strikeout rate shows. Where Blach really struggles is giving up hard contact. The lefty has a hard-hit rate against him of 36.1%

Coors Field always leads to a huge implied total, as the Cleveland Guardians have the best of the day at 5.70.

Ramirez is a hitter to go for tonight because he isn't just hot right now -- he has destroyed lefties all season long. With a .430 wOBA and 1.031 OPS against southpaws in 2024, Ramirez is set up to thrive in a big way once again tonight.
