3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 6/25/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

MLB Player Props

Jarren Duran to Record 2+ Total Bases (-120)

Jarren Duran might be the hottest hitter in baseball right now, and I'm not counting on him to slow down any time soon. I like him to Record 2+ Total Bases (-120) in tonight's contest.

The Boston Red Sox are coming off a walk off win over the Toronto Blue Jays last night and will now face them in Game 2 of the series.

Boston has a solid 4.59 implied total against the Blue Jays and their starter Kevin Gausman, per numberFire's heat map.

Typically, I'd be avoiding Gausman against the Red Sox as he has had his way with them in previous years -- but things change. The 33-year-old hasn't been the same pitcher we've grown used to these last few seasons.

Through 80 2/3 innings pitched, the righty has posted a 4.24 ERA and 5.15 expected ERA (xERA). Hits haven't been tough to come by with Gausman, either, as he's posted a 1.29 WHIP -- his highest since 2019. He's also struggled with hard-hit rate, allowing hitters to drive the ball 42.5% of the time, per Baseball Savant.

This is all to bring us to Duran. The dynamic outfielder has a 14-game hitting streak going right now, hitting an overall .396 in the month of June. Over those 14 games, Duran has 10 multi-hit games, which is why I like him again record two or more total bases.

When he's not having multi-hit games, counting on extra-base hits hasn't been tough; the outfielder has 40 of them on the campaign in the form of 23 doubles, 10 triples, and 7 home runs.

Fire up Duran with confidence tonight.

Freddie Freeman to Record an RBI (+110)

While it's easy to ride with someone from the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup most nights, tonight marks another good time against the Chicago White Sox.

Chicago will be starting Chris Flexen in the game. Los Angeles has the second-best implied total of the night (5.62) as a result, per numberFire's heat map.

Flexen has been a pitcher to pounce on -- from an offensive standpoint and betting against him. His struggles have been documented plenty, but in 16 total games and 14 starts, the right-handed hurler has a 5.03 ERA and 4.81 SIERA. He's allowing high fly-ball rate of 47.3% and brings in a 1.35 HR/9 as well. Add in the 1.39 WHIP and 4.73 FIP, and you know you'll want someone from this Dodgers offense tonight.

Shohei Ohtani is never a bad choice, but I'll roll with No. 3 hitter Freddie Freeman to Record an RBI (+110).

On the season, Freeman has racked up 46 RBIs in the middle of the Dodgers' order. With the injury of Mookie Betts, manager Dave Roberts made the choice to keep Freeman in the three-spot rather than move him up, giving him the same opportunities to drive in runs.

The first baseman has made easy work of right-handed pitching this year, posting a .339 average and .429 wOBA. He's also had a .444 wOBA and 1.072 OPS in the month of June alone, so we're looking at him tonight when the bat is swinging well.

Freeman is as consistent as they come at the plate, giving me all the belief to target him tonight in an ideal matchup.

Jose Altuve to Record 2+ Total Bases (-125)

Jose Altuve remains consistent at the top of the Houston Astros' lineup and is the hitter we want tonight against the Colorado Rockies.

Colorado will starter left-hander Austin Gomber, which is good news for Altuve and company. The southpaw has a 4.36 ERA, 4.72 SIERA, and 5.12 FIP. Gomber's 1.65 HR/9 and 1.30 WHIP are inviting to lineups, which is part of the reason the implied total for the Astros' offense sits at 4.79.

When considering a bet for Altuve, I like him to Record 2+ Total Bases (-125).

The second baseman has a .299 batting average and .353 wOBA -- a steady bat to lean on. Through 77 games, Altuve has had 25 multi-hit games and 28 extra-base hits.

I'm looking at Altuve even more in this game due to his high success against lefties. The 34-year-old has a .368 wOBA, .840 OPS, and 142 wRC+ when facing southpaws in 2024.

Kicking things off for an Astros lineup that hadn't been hitting it's expected levels but is now turning things around, Altuve is the hitter to trust.
