3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 4/30/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

MLB Prop Bets

Carlos Correa to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110)

Carlos Correa just returned to the Minnesota Twins' lineup and is in a good spot to do some damage tonight.

The Twins get themselves an exciting matchup tonight as they'll face the Chicago White Sox and their starter Michael Soroka.

Soroka has not returned to his pre-injury form that had him as a future ace in Atlanta way back in 2019. Instead, his injuries have left him to barely play since then, and his numbers aren't living up to where he was in any way.

The righty has a rough 6.11 SIERA to go with a 7.26 xERA, 7.26 FIP, and 1.69 WHIP. Soroka has also watched hitters smash seven home runs against him in his first five starts.

The reason to like Correa to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110) tonight isn't just due to Soroka's problems on the mound because he's been strong at the plate in the 12 games he's played.

Correa has a .363 wOBA but should be even better, as shown by his .401 xwOBA. His .275 batting average, .396 OBP, and .400 SLG play well to what I'm looking for from him tonight, too. There's potential here for him to Hit a Home Run (+390), which would bring us to our total bases bet.

Hitting from the No. 2 spot, Correa can come through against Soroka and company.

William Contreras to Record 2+ Hits (+200)

With how good things are going for William Contreras, I like him to Record 2+ Hits (+200) in this one.

Contreras has been impressive at the plate this season, hitting .348 with 5 home runs, a .426 wOBA, a .545 SLG, and a .971 OPS. He's the type of hitter you want to trust on full slates like tonight. The star catcher has already had 13 multi-hit games this season, as well, showing that this is right in his wheelhouse.

The Milwaukee Brewers will face the Tampa Bay Rays, who are turning to Tyler Alexander tonight. Alexander hasn't been a starter to fear, as shown by his 4.41 SIERA and 1.30 WHIP. The southpaw also has a 5.14 FIP to his name through 25 2/3 innings.

Contreras has always been a player who destroys lefties. Last season, he had a .455 wOBA and 1.087 OPS against them. There shouldn't be much stopping him from showing out tonight.

Manny Machado to Record an RBI (+125)

Manny Machado is part of our final prop bet for today's slate. He's in a great spot to Record an RBI (+125).

Machado hasn't had giant success yet this season, but he has been able to drive in 13 runs from the four spot in the San Diego Padres' lineup.

The third baseman has a .308 wOBA, .135 ISO, and 31.3% hard-hit rate. It's clear that he isn't playing to his usual standards yet, but the matchup is too good to ignore -- especially when he's hitting in such a good spot in the lineup.

The Cincinnati Reds will send out Nick Martinez to slow down the Padres. That could be a problem considering Martinez hasn't done any slowing down of lineups this season. The 33-year-old has a rough 5.48 ERA to go with underlying metrics that reflect his tough season thus far between a 4.17 SIERA, 4.52 xFIP, 1.39 WHIP, and 48.1% fly-ball rate.

Machado is in prime position to drive in a run tonight and get the Padres on the board.
